Characteristics of an Effective Teacher
I knew that I wanted to be a teacher even as a little girl. I knew that I loved and enjoyed working with children, but more importantly I embraced the idea of helping children to succeed in school and eventually in life. One of my goals is to become more competent and confident in my teaching style as well as mastering better teaching techniques in the classroom. I want to improve my instruction and constantly maintain a positive, welcoming and inviting atmosphere for students. Some of my strengths is constantly self-reflecting and observing others to help grow as a teacher. I welcome criticism, advice and I am very in-tuned to the different teaching methods I observe in the classroom. I take different positives I observe and apply them to my teaching philosophy and teaching methods.

It was teachers that took interest in who I was and supported me with every stride I made in and outside of the classroom. They built a strong foundation for trust and communication, which supported my eagerness to succeed.
